Weekly Kiwanis is an organization of volunteers dedicated to improving our community and the world, one child at a time. Meetings are held weekly at Noon at the Polo Grill located at 10670 Boardwalk Loop in the Lakewood Ranch Main Street Complex. The cost for lunch is $15.00 per person. Programs vary from week to week. Guests are welcome!

We are calling upon moms, dads, families, church groups, entrepreneurs, counselors, lawyers, doctors, teachers; those who have recently lost jobs or homes, volunteers, business owners, and ANYONE else that would love to help in joining by cause (People4ThePeople). We are a small Non-profit group with grassroots initiatives looking to make a difference in our community. Downtown Bradenton Farmers' Market - Saturdays

The event happens every Saturday Jan.10, 2009 - May 30, 2009. Then it starts again in Oct. through the end of December, 12/26/2009. The Downtown Bradenton Farmers’ Market on Saturday, offers fresh food vendors, produce, plants and flowers, entertainment, prepared foods, gifts and lots of fun for the community every Saturday morning. Located on Main Street in downtown Bradenton, the event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Downtown parking is free on the weekend and dogs on leashes are welcome. The Downtown Farmers’ Market is designed to support local farmers and growers and other local businesses. The Market is intended to be a social place where families and friends from the community can gather and access fresh food. Interested vendors should contact Susan Blake for an application.

It is an outreach community group that focuses on crisis prevention during these hard times. However, since starting the People4thePeople group, many kids/youth have asked, "How can I help?" Therefore, we have decided to start a "Kids4thePeople" branch as an extension of our group. It is to encourage our youth to get involved with our local community. We are looking for parents with their children (ages 8-12yrs. or youth age group) that want to give back. Palmetto's Christmas in the Park

Start your holiday festivities with an old-fashioned Christmas at Palmetto Historical Park and Manatee County Agricultural Museum. On December 4th from 5:00 – 9:00 pm and December 5th from 3:00 – 9:00 pm, this free event offers something for everyone! Enjoy beautifully decorated buildings, kids’ crafts, entertainment and of course, Santa! Featured activities include letters to Santa, contests for prizes, model trains from the FL Garden Railroad Society, letters to soldiers, planting and petting animals with FFA, recipes to collect in each of the park buildings, and a “Memory Tree” in the Military Museum. In addition to free craft projects, there will be a Children’s Craft Area where crafts can be made for $1 or $2. Photos with Santa will be taken for $8 in the Carnegie Library or you can bring your own camera. Food vendors on the premises include Demetrio’s Pizza, Word of Mouth BBQ, and Tiny Tots will be selling Mexican food. Alex’s Lemonade Stand will be raising funds for children’s cancer research and the Sweet Shop will raise funds for school programming. In the spirit of Christmas, help needy families by bringing canned goods for First United Methodist Church of Palmetto’s food pantry and drop them off at park entrances.
