It is an outreach community group that focuses on crisis prevention during these hard times. However, since starting the People4thePeople group, many kids/youth have asked, "How can I help?" Therefore, we have decided to start a "Kids4thePeople" branch as an extension of our group. It is to encourage our youth to get involved with our local community. SCF Hosts Teaching Cert Prep Info Sessions

The dates for these sessions are. 10/22/09, 10/31/09, and 11/10/09. All are at 6:30pm State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will host information sessions about its teaching certification preparation program this fall. The program is for people who have at least a bachelor’s degree with a noneducation major or teachers with temporary certificates who need professional course work. Hour-long sessions are scheduled for the following times and locations: • 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 22, and 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 21, at SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail, Building 800. • 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 31, and 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 18, SCF Lakewood Ranch, 7131 Professional Parkway East. • 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 10, and 6:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 10 at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West. After finishing all courses in the program and passing required state and college exams, participants will receive certificates of completion that make them eligible for the Florida Department of Education’s professional teaching certificate. Evening and weekend scheduling of classes allows working professionals to participate. The cost of SCF’s alternative certification program (ACP) is approximately $2,000. Downtown Bradenton Farmers' Market - Saturdays

The Downtown Bradenton Farmers’ Market on Saturday, offers fresh food vendors, produce, plants and flowers, entertainment, prepared foods, gifts and lots of fun for the community every Saturday morning. Located on Main Street in downtown Bradenton, the event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Downtown parking is free on the weekend and dogs on leashes are welcome. The Downtown Farmers’ Market is designed to support local farmers and growers and other local businesses.
