DESCRIPTION:Downsizing was the goal when independent director and determine
d “guinea pig” Jenna Norwood made the award-winning film\, “Supercharge Me
! 30 Days Raw.” Norwood will discuss her raw-food adventure after the 7 p.
 m. screening of the documentary on Saturday\, Oct. 20\, in Neel Performing
Arts Center\, located off 60th Avenue at Manatee Community College Braden
ton\, 5840 26th St. West. \nSimilar in name only to the junk-food document
ary\, “Super Size Me\,” Norwood’s film takes viewers to a 30-day raw food
detox program in San Diego\, Calif. The Sarasota resident found her way th
ere after her mirror image foiled an attempt at dressing up as a Las Vegas
showgirl for Halloween. A diet of uncooked “living” foods that includes o
rganic fruits\, vegetables\, nuts\, seeds\, sprouted grains and juices was
the solution. Produced by Emporia Pictures\, the film includes interviews
with doctors\, celebrities Ben Vereen and Kathy Sledge\, and other advoca
tes of the raw food lifestyle. The winner of Best Documentary and Best Mot
ivational awards at the Tofino (British Columbia) and Raw Lifestyle (West
Hollywood\, Calif.) film festivals\, “Supercharge Me” also was named an of
ficial selection at festivals in Sarasota\, Utopia (Greenbelt\, Md.) and C
entral Florida (Kissimmee\, Fla.). General admission is $10. Tickets are $
5 for Florida students and MCC staff. For more information\, call (941) 75

DESCRIPTION:Daily during regular museum hours\n\nOrganized by Landau Travel
ing Exhibitions.\nLos Caprichos deals with themes such as the Spanish Inqu
isition\, the abuses of the church and the nobility\, witchcraft\, child r
earing\, avarice\, and the frivolity of young women. The importance of th
e edition featured in this exhibition\, one of the original four acquired
by Goya’s loyal patrons\, the Duke and Duchess of Osuna\, lies as much in
the quality of its impressions as in its evidence of the generosity of a l
iberal noble couple\, and their rapport with a radical artist. These etch
ings were purchased directly from Goya.\nSee this exhibition during regula
